On Sunday, October 19, 2025, the Hazara community of Alberta, Canada, held a memorial ceremony in Calgary to honor the late Professor Mohammad Younis Toghyan Sakai. The event was attended by prominent figures from academic, cultural, political, and social circles, as well as admirers of the late professor.

Hazara Genocide: Remembering and Advocating On September 25, the Hazara community in Calgary commemorated the victims of the Hazara genocide, highlighting historical and ongoing persecution and calling for international recognition and justice.

The Hazara Society of Alberta was officially inaugurated with the presence of MP Tom Kmiec and community members.
